Within the city of Tampa lies one of the most popular suburbs, Carrollwood.

The Carrollwood and Northdale areas combined have a population of just over 50,000.

5 best things about living in the Carrollwood area of Tampa

1. Mature landscaping

Now before you think to yourself, “this sounds like something my dad would say”, let me explain. Many newer developments have landscaping that gives the area a more bleak feeling. The older, more developed trees and vegetation gives the area a fuller and more vibrant feeling. You’ll enjoy this TRUST us!

2. Proximity to the City

It is still in the city of Tampa, which means easy access to shopping, downtown, highways, and the airport. The beach is not super close, although it is pretty easy to access from here as well. This area is perfect for someone who doesn’t want the crowdedness of the city, but also wants the convenience of living in the city.

3. Quieter and safer than many other areas in Tampa.

People often wonder what the safest areas of Tampa are.

That is a hard question to answer as  a realtor, considering the ethic code that we agree to does not allow us to sway people away or towards certain areas. But I can assure you that the Carrollwood and Northdale overall are very safe and quiet. It’s family-focused and the residents are a wide range of ages.

Generally the further away you get from the city, or the further you get from clusters of densely populated areas, the lower the crime rate. Carrollwood is no exception and would be a fantastic area to raise a family.

 4. The homes have character.

Many of the homes in the area were built in the 1960s, ‘70s, and ‘80s and they were built a little bigger than the average home in that era. You will find many homes over 2,000 sq. ft. and some even bigger, situated right on the golf course. The homes nearer the golf course have that old money estate feel and are quite spectacular. The homes in the Carrollwood/Northdale area are unique and you will be hard-pressed to find homes like this in a newly developed suburban area. This adds visual interest and character to this region of Tampa.

5. Access

This point is similar to the previous point about proximity. Carrollwood’s prime location is close to the city, however, Carrollwood itself contains quite a bit of food and shopping. Specifically, along Dale Mabry Hwy, there are all kinds of restaurants (from fast-food chains to local specialties) and shopping options.

The Carrollwood area is one of my favorites because of its old, well established, and mature feel that I personally love. The homes sit on bigger lots and you can tell residents have been here for generations.
