North Pinellas

The north Pinellas area is currently where I call home. The towns that make up this area are Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, and East Lake. People choose this area because of its proximity to things like beaches and at slower pace. This area is like a mixture of South Pinellas and the North Suburbs. It is like South Pinellas because it is older and more densely populated along with close to the beaches. It is like the North Suburbs in that it is more resident focused.

For activities other than typical shopping needs or beaches a trip to Clearwater or Tampa is required. The north Pinellas area features more small local businesses then it’s surrounding areas. Even from the far north side of the county clear water is only 30 minutes away, and Tampa is less than an hour away.

More About North Pinellas

Just like Central Pinellas this area it was mostly developed in the middle of the 20th century. There are many homes built in that area and sometimes it is difficult to find things that are newer. The newest town in the area is East Lake and you can find a lot of newer homes here.

People also choose to move their families to this area because of the quality of the schools. Palm Harbor University High School in East Lake High School are some of the best public high schools in the Tampa area. This area also features Montessori and Waldorf schools for the entire Tampa area.
